my lover S95

My favorite gears are a canon 5D MK2 with a battery grip and 85mm F1.2 lens on. This 85mm lens is simply amazing cos it creates silky texture and natural glow specially on female models' skin. No other lens works as great as this 85mm F1.2. I just cannot live without it. It's my lifetime partner but only the weak point is the weight. It becomes 3.4pounds(1.5kg) on my 5D MK2. Not very handy to carry around.
Therefore here is my lover PowerShot S95. It's compact, has a bright lens(F2.0!), lots of different modes including tilt-shift, controllable aperture, big LCD screen, and creates very good quality pictures of course.
It's so light, fun, playful and easy. Such a perfect lover to take out and photograph on a daily basis.

Japanese models

Lately I get to shoot many Japanese models.

They move and express themselves differently from western models. They look fresh, delicate, sort of mysterious...

rusty motor bike

Yesterday I had a fashion shoot at some deserted barn in deep Chiba. The place had lots of cool props to shoot with a model. Specially the rusty HONDA motor bike! The steering was stiff and the gas tank was sticky and stinky but never mind! We got some cool shots.

super lovely & talented make up artist, MIYACHI!

Motonari Ono Lookbook

Motonari Ono 2011-12 A/W collection lookbook.

great make up artist, Yui!

"Motonari Ono graduated from Mejiro Design School in 2002. He then spent one year at the London College of Fashion Foundation, and enrolled in the Royal College of Fine Art in Antwerp with plans for furthering his education in fashion. These plans were interrupted by a job offer from London-based label Bora Aksu, where he spent two years as chief pattern maker before returning to Tokyo in 2006 to start his eponymous label. He’s best known for his womenswear collection. He likes high hemlines, interesting collars, and monochromatic palettes marked with occasional splashes of bright color."
I was still in London when I first met Motonari Ono. It was before he launched his own brand but he was already amazingly talented and creating unbelievably beautiful outfits constantly.
Today the world of his fashion is just incredible! He designs and produces clothes a lot more faster than before. and of course going even higher quality. His inspirations never run out and his creative vision is always focused. I totally admire this guy.

At the shoot I got to work with amazing people.
Thanks to all these great crews for sharing their talents!
